Most foreigners in Thailand have heard the word “Notary Public” but not everyone knows what it actually means here.
A Notary Public is the certification of the authenticity of documents, signatures, translations, or statements by a legally authorized person to give those documents legal effect and credibility, especially when they are to be used abroad.
Thailand has a “Notarial Services Attorney” a licensed lawyer who has completed specialized training and been officially registered by the Lawyers Council of Thailand under the Lawyers Act B.E. 2528, to provide notarial services for use both in Thailand and abroad.
In cases where a foreign consulate is unable to assist, our Notarial Services Attorney can certify all types of legal documents, including:
– Signatures & Acknowledgments
– Oaths, Affirmations & Affidavits
– Powers of Attorney
– Will and Testament
– Private Contracts & Agreements
– Legal Translations
Before proceeding, we always recommend confirming with the receiving party that the notarization will be accepted to avoid any delays or complications in your transaction.
